Fresh Faces: Jr. Americans Excited To Welcome New Wave Of Players To Rowdy Town

FAIRPORT, N.Y. — The Rochester Jr. Americans are excited to announce a wave of impactful roster additions through tenders, the NAHL Draft, and key trades. These players are expected to bolster the team with a strong mix of skill, experience, and upside.

TENDERS

George Poirier

Poirier led all Grit skaters with 24 goals and 43 points in 57 games last season. The Colorado native recently committed to Brown University (NCAA Division I). Entering his final season of eligibility, Poirier brings high-end offensive talent to Rowdy Town.

 

Felix Lindberg

A stay-at-home defenseman from Sweden, Lindberg most recently played in the J20 Nationell with Örebro HK. With two years of NAHL eligibility, he brings a poised, defensive-first game.

 

Cam Doran

A product of the Jr. Americans Youth Organization and the Buffalo Jr. Sabres, Doran notched 111 points in 100 career OJHL games. He enters his final season of junior eligibility with the goal of making an immediate impact.

 

Jensen Carlstrom

Carlstrom became a playoff hero last season, posting a 6-1-2 record with a .911 save percentage and a 2.16 GAA during the Robertson Cup Playoffs. A former standout at Nichols School and Boston Hockey Academy, Carlstrom backstopped the Jr. Amerks to their first East Division Championship.

 

Caden Okovita

Okovita appeared in six games for Rochester as an affiliate player, contributing a goal and two assists. From Bishop Kearney Selects, he tallied 49 points in 54 games and enters with three seasons of NAHL eligibility.

 

Konnor Powell

A highly skilled 2007-born forward, Powell recorded 129 points in 126 games over the last two seasons with the Bishop Kearney Selects. He joins with three years of NAHL eligibility and high upside.

 

Colin Dustin

From the Ohio Blue Jackets program, Dustin is known for his compete level and scoring touch. He finished second in team scoring this season with 27 goals and 61 points in 60 games.

 

Nikolas Reich

Reich brings junior experience after playing in both the NAHL and NCDC with the New Jersey Titans and Boston Jr. Terriers. A versatile forward with two years of eligibility.

 

Logan Keup

A 6’2” defenseman from Bismarck, ND, Keup won the SJHL’s Canterra Seeds Cup with the Melfort Mustangs and reached the Centennial Cup Final. He plays a defense-first style and joins with two years of eligibility.

Futures Draft

Ryan Kozara – 30th Overall

A defensive star from Penfield, NY, Kozara developed in the Jr. Amerks Youth Organization and at McQuaid Jesuit High School.

 

Alexander Woller – 64th Overall

Hailing from Fairbanks, Alaska, Woller most recently suited up for the Sioux Falls Power program.

 


 
NAHL Draft

 

Jacob Strizzi – 52nd Overall

A high-scoring forward from Ontario, Strizzi put up 88 points over two seasons with the Humboldt Broncos, including 71 last year alone.

 

Stone Rolston – 79th Overall

From Bloomfield Hills, MI, Rolston played two seasons in the BCHL, tallying 17 points with the Victoria Grizzlies. The 6’4″ forward comes from a hockey family, including his father Brian, a Stanley Cup champion.

 

Miles Roberts – 116th Overall

The 20-year-old goaltender from Costa Mesa, CA brings a wealth of experience, having played in the NAHL, BCHL, and USHL. Last season, he appeared in 20 games for the Cranbrook Bucks.

 

Dmitri Toporowski – 119th Overall

A physical defenseman from Shrewsbury, MA, Toporowski played last season in the WHL, following a deep family tradition in the league.

 

Murray Kanerva – 233rd Overall

A dependable blue-liner from Alberta, Kanerva developed entirely in Canada and most recently competed in the AJHL.

 

Ethan Walker – 267th Overall

An experienced forward from Ontario, Walker averaged over a point per game in the OJHL over the past two seasons, bringing depth and consistency.

 

Jason Millet – 301st Overall

A left-shot defenseman from North Conway, NH, Millet shined at South Kent School with 64 points in 61 games, showcasing offensive upside from the back end.

 

Tyson Matthews – 335th Overall

A 6’3” left-shot defenseman from Vernon, BC, Matthews developed in the BCEHL and played last season in the SJHL.

 

Michael Dowdell – 369th Overall

The Coquitlam, BC native is a gritty right-shot forward who played for Humboldt last season. He reunites with fellow draftee Jacob Strizzi in Rochester.

 

Jack Freiser – 403rd Overall

From Land O’ Lakes, FL, Freiser produced 43 points in 2024–25 at Atlantic Coast Academy and brings a proven scoring touch at the AAA level.

 

Sam Prokupets – 437th Overall

A Rochester native returning home, Prokupets is a versatile forward with roots in both the Jr. Amerks Youth Organization and Bishop Kearney Selects.

 

JP Saddy – 471st Overall

Saddy, a left-shot defenseman from Toms River, NJ, spent last season with the NAHL’s New Jersey Titans after growing up in their youth program.

 

Carson Wendorff – 505th Overall

A defenseman from Litchfield, MN, Wendorff played for the Willmar WarHawks (NA3HL) and had time with Amarillo in the NAHL. He brings a rugged style to the Jr. Amerks’ blue line.

 

 

TRADES

 

Corson Maguire – Acquired from Amarillo

In his final season of eligibility, Maguire led Amarillo in points per game (29 in 34 games) before finishing the year in the BCHL with Prince George. A former Bishop Kearney standout, he brings offensive punch and veteran presence.

 

Colin Watson – Acquired from Corpus Christi

A 6’4″, 220-lb forward from New Jersey, Watson tallied 21 points in 51 games and finished third on the Ice Rays in plus-minus. He adds size, experience, and reliable two-way play.

 

With a strong class of tenders, impactful draft selections, and meaningful trade acquisitions, the Jr. Americans are poised to build off last season’s success and take another step forward in 2025.
