NEWS: Rochester Jr. Americans Tender Massimo Gentile

May 28, 2023

FAIRPORT, NY — Massimo Gentile adds his name to this year’s inaugural roster as he signs his tender with the Rochester Jr. Americans!

Gentile was born in Pointe-Claire, QC, Canada on July 2, 2003. He played the last two seasons in the Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL) for the Ottawa Jr. Senators. The CCHL is a Canadian Junior hockey league operating in eastern Ontario, Canada. The league is sanctioned by Hockey Canada and is a member of the Canadian Junior Hockey League.

Gentile is an agile 5’9″ forward who exploded in production this year with 56 points in 46 games. He more than doubled his offensive production between his first and second season in the CCHL. The season prior he had 25 points in 53 games.

NAHL teams are allowed six import players on their active roster. An import player is defined as a player who is a non-United States citizen. This will be his one and only season of eligibility in the NAHL.

A tender is a contract, of sorts. A player signs announcing his intentions to play for that particular NAHL team and that NAHL team only. Once a player signs a tender with an NAHL team, his playing rights belong to that team within the NAHL and he may not be recruited by any other NAHL team. Tendered players are not eligible for the NAHL draft.

The Jr. Amerks are pumped to have Landon and would like to wish him congratulations!
